We are pleased to announce the launch of the new CHIME project website, which features our founder and senior advisor, Dr. Mat Lowe as one of its associates and our logo on the "Team and Partners" page under the "About" section.We are partnering with the CHIME project, through the Stellenbosch University Institute for Life Course Health Research, to implement a small-scale research grant in The Gambia. This project will assess the utility of song as an effective means to increase the reach of gender-transformative approaches (GTA) in promoting male partner engagement in maternal health in rural Gambia. Over the past eight months, SSWH has been supporting the desk review and primary data collection and analysis for the development of a social behaviour change (SBC) strategy for addressing FGM in The Gambia. From November 17-18, 2025, alongside our partner organisations (Common Thread and Wassu Gambia Kafo), we conducted a participatory co-creation workshop with national and regional stakeholders. The workshop served as a central platform for collaboratively developing the social behaviour change strategy (SBC) for addressing FGM in The Gambia, supported by UNICEF The Gambia. It was intended to produce a working outline of the SBC strategy that reflects joint ownership and shared vision.
